Hollywood Calling (Or Two Hollywood Blockbusters in my head)

Want to see an awesome thriller that's bigger than big? The next Hollywood blockbuster is going to blow you away. The big screen brings you an epic drama that is action-packed and is a special fx smorgasbord. Every second will keep you hanging to the seat of your chair...for dear life.

Title: Ctrl-Alt-Del
The Premise
I wonder if you fill enough shit in Cyberspace, does it actually overflow? Now, isn't that a storyline for a movie. The internet is overflowing with all the gunk we have deleted over the years. Suddenly the cyberworld is spilling into reality. From old word docs to deleted porn, downloaded songs to tons of email, everything is breaching the divide between our real world and the cyberworld.

The Hero
A geeky programmer who's been a social outcast holds the key to the salvation of the human race. Together with a small team of computer specialists (including Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, they must venture into the time/space/internet continuum to plug this leak.

Title: Unglued
The Premise
The earth is loosing its gravity and people are starting to float off into the atmosphere. On Dec 21, 2012, our planet starts to loose its gravitational pull. A team of scientists frantically start to find ways around this natural phenomena but ultimately nothing can be done. Slowly one nation at a time, people start to float upwards and outwards into outerspace where they burn up and die.

This film tracks the story of a few families. From a farmer, his wife and children to the President of the USA, we follow how people prepare for the end of the world as we know it. Will salvation come in time?

Hollywood. If you are listening (or reading my blog), send me an email if you think these movies are doable.

The End.

I can't shake that nasty feeling that things are going to go really bad for us. We've been losing some clients and it's seriously shaky keeping those that are still with us. There was a little respite this week when a client offered a new job, but still, we'll need much more to survive.

The heartache is that a client who has been with us for yonks has called a pitch for a new job. Is this the end? I can't shake that nasty feeling that things are going to go really bad for us.

Coincidence?

Of late, I have been seeing the same numbers all the time. Like 1234, 1111, 719 and other such numbers. Why 719? Well, it's the day I got married. 19 July, that is.

Weird thing is sometimes I see these numbers 2 and even 3 times a day. And this has been happening for the better part of 6 months already. Mere coincidences or is there a higher power at play? I don't know. Went googling for some explanation and according to some sites, there's some kind of protecting angel playing with these numbers.

Well, all will be revealed someday I guess. Probably by Dec 21, 2012 : )

In the meantime, anyone has an explanation or experiences the same thing, please share.

iPhoto Sync Issues

I've been using my iPhone 3Gs for almost 8 months now and I've never realized this until last night.

If you have pictures in the Photo app (on the iPhone) which are not taken by the camera (meaning it could be pics you saved from emails or the web), this will cause the iPhone to not sync with iPhoto when you connect it to your Mac laptop.

I wonder if it's a bug or if it's meant to work like this. Hopefully 4.0 sorts this out. Because what's the point of saving photos from emails and websites when you can't export them to your computer.

iPhone 4.0

Where are you 4.0? All this waiting around is killing me. Anyway, it's confirmed...the 4.0 is around the corner. Summer release. So that's just two to three months away.

This is my best Bejeweled Blitz score to date. I think celebrations are in order.

MacBook Juice

How many years does a MacBook (1st Gen Alum casing) last anyway? I've had my silver beast for nearly 2 years now and the battery life seems to be pretty bad. The juice seems to be draining faster than normal. Although it says the battery cycle is still good. Forget 4 hours. I'll be happy if mine can last 2 hours unplugged in.

Time for an update?

By the way, I'm still waiting for the freedom bird. Then a nice lingering warm shower. And then beddy bye...

Firefly...two dissapointments in a day

Urgh...the morning landing was less than desirable and now they've gone and delayed the flight home. Looks like my freedom bird's turned out to be a real turkey.

The compensation is the 'front' row seat at 3c. Hopefully there's no tubby overflowing fellow in the next seat (like the fellow in this morning's flight).

Don't get me wrong. I'm pretty big myself, and I really have nothing against 'big boned' people. Just keep to your space and respect mine. I don't know you. And we've just met. Let's be social. But not that social.

Anyway, this is what Subang airport looks like at 9.26pm on 21.04.2010

Updates.

Not all is roses.

David left yesterday after almost 7 years with us. We'll miss you, buddy. Hope all is well and the best to you in all your future undertakings.

It's getting hard to find a candidate for the Graphic post. Most of the applicants don't have what it takes and those who do somehow feel they're not 'suitable' for the job. The next few months is going to be tough if we don't get more people in here fast.

Right now I'm sitting in Subang airport waiting for the freedom bird. Just had more work thrown at us. Which is good. Time to oil up the ol' noggin and do some hard core thinking. Gonna make this campaign brilliant. And speaking about brilliant, I hope that the 'ace' work we've done will get it's due kudos from the client (fingers crossed).

So, that's it for the updates. Oh yeah, one last thing...if you're interviewing for a job here (or anywhere else for that matter), please don't show work that's not yours. You may just get caught out. One fella came by yesterday to ask for a job and showed us his portfolio. I was astounded when I saw a piece of work he 'claimed' was his. It was done by us. Caught out, mate. And yeah, you suck!

What a jab!

This is what happened to my arm after a certain Dr. drew blood for some medical exam. Yow! It hurts about as bad as it looks.

Bye Bye Hilux

It came to an end almost instantaneously. I was surprised to find that I was actually not that prepared to face it. It was sad saying goodbye. My Toyota Hilux truck was my dream car. And it had served me well for nearly 3 years. It had ferried me from Pg to KL and back without much fuss. It had made me feel like the King of the Road. Maintenance wasn't exactly cheap but it was definitely a good ride and well worth it. Albeit a little bit bumpy. It had protected me from the pouring rain and the hot tropical sun. But we now have to part.

Sorry mate, the cost of fixing you up to prime running condition would not justify keeping you around any longer. So here, we have to say our Goodbye's. Do take care and I hope we'll meet on the streets again.

And yes, Respect The Hilux!
